Sampled at Whisky Birmingham 2015 run by The Birmingham Whisky Club.

Please take into account that these are my personal tasting notes and personal experience. as such you may interpret this whisky very differently from me.

Colour:

Unfortunately I failed to make a note of colour – maybe the first 11 whiskies of that day had affected my vision?

Nose:

Christmas pudding, raisins and brandy.

Palate:

Raisins and brandy overriding. Surprisingly bitter considering the Christmas pudding nose this gives off.

Finish:

Long lasting, more spicy on the finish with some sweet vanilla mixed in.

Overall:

I don’t know whether it’s because it was my 12th whisky of the day but I just couldn’t get into this one. The nose made it seem full of potential but the bitter quality to the palate just ruined it for me unfortunately.

Notes:

I couldn’t find anything about this specific bottling other than the vague notes I made myself at the timebut there is some information below on the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS).

Taken from SMWS website:
The Society’s Whisky Tasting Panel meets regularly to select only the very best single malt whisky for your delectation. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society offers an unparalleled range of quality single cask, single malt whisky. We select, bottle and release around 20 casks the First Friday of every month giving you an ever-changing selection of whiskies to discover.
