Please take into account that these are my personal tasting notes and personal experience, as such you may interpret this whisky very differently from me.
Sherry sweet, smoke and peat with a hint of oak.
Creamy texture, slight sweetness but with smooth smoke and peat – not overpowering though. Oak and spice coming through nearer the end. With water the smoke and peat was tempered even further revealing more sweetness and hint of caramel.
Medium, smokey finish with more oak and spice.
A good blend and certainly a step up from the standard Famous Grouse. If you’re not sure on smoke and peat this might be a good introduction – not to overpowering with it and cheap so you’re not spending a fortune on something you might not like.
