House of Malt Highland 10

Please take into account that these are my personal tasting notes and personal experience, as such you may interpret this whiskey differently from me.

This sample was one of three from the House of Malt Secret Bottling Series. I was lucky enough to take part in a Twitter Tasting involving all three bottlings. Read about the #HoMSecret Twitter Tasting here.

Colour:

Pale straw.

Nose:

Honey, dried fruits, slight citrus note and vanilla.

Palate:

Honey, fruit and oak providing a bit of spice and a slightly bitter edge.

Finish:

Oak, spice and honey.

Overall:

I didn’t get a great deal from this one – not sure if I was a bit nose blind and needed time to get into the swing of things maybe? A nice sweet dram though, not very complex but certainly an easy drinker.

Notes:

Taken from House of Malt Website.

Nose: Rich Manuka honey, dried fruit, nutmeg, citrus cedarwood, and black cherry.
